What is a CsA?

CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. It is a proven farming model that allows consumers to support local farmers by sharing the risks of food production. Members purchase a subscription at the beginning of the season to receive our locally-grown produce (plus any add-ons like eggs or meat) at an established pick up location.

Seasonal supply

The Hintz Produce CSA Subscription spans about 18 weeks from June through September. As such, the supply will look different week to week and month to month. Some weeks have more (especially later in the summer), some weeks have less (especially earlier).

Weekly Variety

Just like the quantity will vary with the season, the variety of produce will vary week to week. Not every share will have all 30+ produce items, but check out the graphics below to get a better idea of our monthly availabilities.

Risk Sharing

If you think about your share like a stock in our company, you can think of your produce like dividends. As our shareholders, we do our best to reward your investment. In exchange for more balanced cash flow and demand, we strive to deliver more produce than what you pay for. That said, we live in Nebraska. If we experience damaging storms, certain (and occasionally all) crops may experience total failure.

Local sustainability

By investing in Hintz Produce, our members ensure the continued presence of their local farm, while learning more about and becoming closer to their food and the people who grow it. As farmers, we aim to strengthen Nebraska’s food supply, stimulate the local economy, and shrink the gap between our farm and your table. Keep scrolling to learn more about our 2025 CSA!
