our roots
Since immigrating to America, both sides of our family have practiced farming in every generation. From the dells of Wisconsin to the great Nebraskan plains, our ancestors have raised beef cattle, managed dairies, grown row crops, sewn cereal crops, and of course, gardened for as many as seven generations on Midwest soil. Although little land has passed down more than a generation, two pillars have held true: the honor in a good day’s work, and a love for feeding the world.
We proudly carry this history into the volatile agriculture climate of the 21st century with hopes to maintain the ideals of the American family farm. In 1999, we took a bold step to achieve this goal by diversifying the farm with commercial vegetable production. We spent many hours in our early years supplying the Lincoln Haymarket, then brought our supply a little closer to home for a couple decades.
Today, we strive to fill both the fresh produce demands around our hometown Hebron, as well as much of southeast Nebraska. You can find our seasonal produce by signing up for our 2024 Farm Bucks or visiting one of our farmers markets. From time to time we also supply schools, restaurants, grocery stores, and nursing homes in the area. It doesn’t seem possible that we are almost halfway through our third decade of Hintz Produce, because to us, it feels like the fun is just beginning. We thank you, our loyal customers, for your continued support. Without you our labor would have little fruit! Please follow us on social media to stay up to date with our happenings on the farm, and let us know how we can best serve you!
